A visit to Hong Kong is never complete without a trip to the Big Buddha statue, Hong Kong. And the journey is best done in the Ngong Ping cable car.

This is a visit to be done peacefully. A beautiful ride, a tall giant statue of the Buddha in sitting position and a tranquil monastery…all with a serene backdrop. Life is beautiful 🙂

The Buddha statue denotes the harmonious relationship between people and faith, set amidst the lap of nature. A total of 268 steps lead to Buddha.

I love visiting Ngong Ping as often as I can, especially since it’s so easy to visit because of the cablecar ride and the annual ngongping360 pass makes it absolutely worth it.

Angkor Thom in Cambodia, is undeniably an expression of the highest genius. It is, in three dimensions and on a scale worthy of an entire nation, the materialization of Buddhist cosmology, representing ideas that only great painters would dare to portray.

Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, was a fortified cit enclosing residences of priest, officials of the palace and military, as well as buildings for administering the kingdom.

These structures were built of wood and have perished but the remaining stone monuments testify that Angkor Thom was indeed a "Great City" as its name implies. Temples inside the walls of the city described in this article are Bayon, Phimeanakas, Baphuon, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, Prah Palilay, Tep Pranam and Prasat Suor Prat.
